Harbour Centre 84 : Pera Padala 81
Defending champion Harbour Centre had to work overtime in the second game before ekeing out an 84-81 thrashing of Cebuana Lhuillier-Pera Padala.
Jason Castro and Chico Lanete scored five points each in the extra period as the Batang Pier outscored the Moneymen, 10-1, in the first three minutes of overtime for a safe 82-73 lead with 1:40 to play.
The win was the fourth straight for Harbour Centre, tying the team with Burger King at 4-1 for a share of the top spot.
Cebuana Lhuillier-Pera Padala fell at 3-2 for second place alongside Toyota Balintawak.
Regulation play ended at 74-all after Castro, who led Harbour with 17 points, hit a driving lay up with a foul to boot from Doug Kramer, but missed the bonus free throw with 20 seconds left to open the door for a possible Cebuana Lhuillier win.
But Ken Bono, whose 30-point performance went for naught following the loss, missed the potential game-winner at the buzzer.
